                             REAL PARTNERS UGANDA

Campus Life Centre to be Constructed with PEPFAR Grant

                            Picture
Tree of Life Ministries applied for a small grant from the American Embassy in Kampala, Uganda along with 400 other organizations. Only 10 grants were accepted for funding, and we are excited about TOLM's being one of them. It was one of very few to be awarded the maximum funding ($25,000) under the grant program.  PEPFAR (President's Emergency Plan for AIDS Relief) grants are given in several categories.  TOLM's was designed to help orphans and vulnerable children affected by AIDS.

The building shown with the curved roof in the architects 3-D drawing will have many uses.  It will serve MSA students and the community as a meeting place and theatre.  MSA will be developing educational health and safety programs using music, dance and drama.  These will be shared with students from other schools and community members.

The new building will be the only one of its kind and size in all of Lukaya.  As such, it will be in demand for meetings and other events.  Eventually the area around it will be developed with a kiosk that serves refreshments and small bandas where visitors can sit in the shade and enjoy their snacks.
